Lower Mississippi Valley Joint Venture (LMVJV) partners teamed up in April 2013 to increase coordination among Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) organizations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, and its core conservation partners in the Lower Mississippi Valley.  What began as a concept has evolved into a well established three-state coordination group; the Tri-state Conservation Coordination Committee.  This unique effort works to identify specific Farm Bill program delivery elements for which the NRCS could benefit from added support and coordination with conservation partners.  The core committee includes a broad range of public and private partners from across the tri-state area.

Though still relatively new, the Tri-state Conservation Coordination Committee is off to a great start.  The group has identified six Farm Bill program delivery opportunities that may benefit from increased coordination, and has formed several sub-committees and Conservation Delivery Network-based working groups to begin addressing them.  The first and most focused effort is aimed at developing more similar Wetlands Reserve Program ranking criteria among the three states.
